Lemme introduce who Akshay is. Hes my classmate and a close friend of mine. We had a very hot discussion today wen my Digital Communication teacher was taking class. He said Chandrayaan I was utter waste of money. But i dont blame Akshay also. Hes actually ignorant like the millions of fellow Indians. Chandrayaan I is a great achievement for a country like India. Inspite of being denied of all latest technologies India was able to prove to the western powers tht we are competent enough;probably they would hav learnt tht India is a country to watch out for. Lemme share wat n all Chandrayaan I achieved. It planted India's flag on Lunar Surface.India is the 4th country to do so. It also found traces of water on moon. Our launch vehicle achieved its target in its very first launch. It also proved tht we can also carry out longer missions like the ones to Mars or even Jupiter. The success of Chandrayaan I has encouraged India to prepare for its next mission Chandrayaan II which will carry a Rover to land on Lunar Surface. So lets all feel proud of this achievement instead of misleading others.

Chandrayan may have landed on the moon but the ultimate goal was never achieved.
"Whatever the ISRO says, the mission is a great loss for India, both monetarily and scientifically. Many did not welcome the efforts in the beginning when it was launched, saying it's a waste of resources in a country where millions still lack basic services. But we the scientific fraternity took it in a positive stride. But, it now shows that India still lacks in expertise. They should have anticipated these glitches which the mission can face," said Mumbai-based scientist Deb Sharma.
"It's unbelievable, the mission that was expected to last for two years, could not complete even a year. What is this? Hardly people know that one focus was to prospect the lunar surface for natural resources, including uranium for nuclear fuel. And, ISRO is saying that it's a great success, all this to save face," he added.
so as always people like bala hype and blow up what ever little that has been accomplished. with everything at stake(scarce and sacred funding, nations pride) ISRO should have been double sure and only then should have given a go for the mission.
The situation is analogous to passing an exam. just passing on the border is different from passing with bright colors, we and ISRO did not pass with bright colors!!!!! lets strive to achieve that rather than focusing on competing.
infinity alias akshay
i think we cant jump off directly to tenth floor from ground floor.
i would like to differ from akshay a.k.a infinity !
1) when you are performing an experiment in the lab do you always know you are going to get the output ? - suppose you don't, can i say you were supposed to have expected these glitches and done something about them ?
2) it is not competition its survival ! its preparedness ! could you develop a "CAR" without wheels ? or maybe an "AIRPLANE" without turbines ? nope ! you cant !
3) and everything was not at stake. India is a TRILLION+ dollar economy ! am sure they can manage to stay afloat after the great LOSS as you put it !
4) have you ever thought about chance ? luck ? do you know how they come into the picture ? i wont say how much but if you re not lucky or whatever you want to call it you don't achieve anything !
5) stop being such a hypocrite ! you say don't compete ? really ? then why do you study so much ? wouldn reading just do ? you want information only right ? dint you compete to get into MIT ? hmmm .. maybe not !!!???
I appreciate your positive attitude but are you sure CHandrayaan I is entirely Indian I mean indigenous.I don't think so.As far as I know, the portion of Chandrayaan I which has detected water on the moon is not Indian made. You can browse to see the actual facts.
No doubt India will perform better in the future but it has a long way to do so.This will happen when fresh, young, sharp, selfless, patriotic, egofree minds join the Indian research labs.
ya nitesh ur right we landing on moon is jus mere luck nothing more nothing less. if u have money and can waste it please donate willingly to ISRO
i study for knowledge not competition not grades.they dont matter
and at bala v r not even at ground floor
if v cant achieve what v had planned then u shud b ashamed not be proud !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and landing on moon is no simple experiment if thats wat u think it is den ull keeep repeating it for ur lifetime ????
may b nitesh our great great great grandsons will learn how to land on moon!!!!
